Our Affiliate Relationships
thewoodpeople.com.au is an independent review and information website for online betting in Australia. We earn affiliate commissions when you click on casino links and complete sign-ups or deposits through our website. These commissions help fund our operations and allow us to provide free, detailed reviews and guides to our readers.
How Commissions Work
When you click an affiliate link on our site and subsequently register with an online casino operator, we receive a commission from that operator. You pay nothing extra—any commission is paid by the casino, not by you.
Editorial Independence
Our affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial rankings, reviews, or recommendations. We rate and rank casinos based on factors including:
- Licensing and regulatory compliance
- Game variety and software quality
- Bonuses and promotional terms
- Customer support responsiveness
- Security and player protection measures
- User experience and website design
Our rankings reflect our honest assessment of each casino's merits, regardless of affiliate commission rates or partner status.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
Affiliate and sponsored links are clearly marked with labels such as:
- "AFFILIATE LINK"
- "SPONSORED"
- "PLAY NOW" (within casino recommendation sections)
These labels appear near or on the link itself to ensure complete transparency.
Australian Compliance
This disclosure complies with the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) Code of Ethics, Australian Consumer Law, and relevant regulations from state gambling authorities. We are committed to transparent disclosure of commercial relationships as required by Australian advertising standards.
Your Responsibility
Before using any online casino through our links, you are responsible for:
- Verifying the casino holds valid Australian gambling licenses
- Understanding your local state and territory gambling laws
- Reading the casino's terms and conditions
- Only gambling within your means
- Seeking help if you develop problem gambling behaviours
If you have concerns about gambling, contact Gambling Help Online or National Council on Problem Gambling.
